    Wellington PAT Route

Post by comms32 on Tue Apr 28, 2009 2:12 pm

People keep asking about this so here it is! The red line on the map shows the 600m route which you run four times.

Start adjacent to the 'Water Whirler' sculpture by Frank Kitts Park. Run along the waterfront, over the lagoon bridge, past the big old crane on a boat, left over the small bridge and along the concrete area with Te Papa to your right. As you go past the wooden seating area by the duck pond you'll see a row of lamp posts. The first one has a rubbish bin attached to it; this is the turning point. Go around it and run all the way back to where you started, when you get to the 'Water Whirler' do a U-turn and do the whole lot again! Easy! Razz

It doesn't look that far because it isn't. If you were jogging it's a warm up! But the speed you need to run at makes this hurt like hell! The wind will add a fair chunk of time to your run. As will the countless tourists getting in your way on the foot bridges. Don't be afraid to yell at people to get out of the way. Wink

Well I live in the Bay, so Aotea Lagoon is just across the harbour for me Smile however, Im only 16 and will probably just slow you down. I really do need to start training though, I want to get the test in by the end of the year.
