I want to get a PS3 but can't justify the $700+ at the moment. Plus my PS2 power supply fried itself and Sony have yet to send me a replacement... Bloody crappy customer service! No toll free number (that works) and promise to send out the new ac adapter before xmas and still nothing! I had one of the ones that was recalled. The current PS3s on sale here in NZ aren't backwards compatible, so I'd effectively have no way to play all my PS2 games. Evil or Very Mad

    Oh well.

Neutral The guy in the shop told me I could only get the 40gig model. I might take another look. Since all the studios are moving to Bluray disc and the stand alone Bluray players are more expensive than the PS3, it makes sense to get a PS3... At least that's what I tell myself when my card is being swiped at the check out Wink

I always say....."ïts easier to seek forgiveness than permission"....well thats how I justify it!! The wife cant stay shitty for ever!!

When they first came out, you could only get 60 gig models, but a while later they introduced the 40 gig, less expensive but not as many features. (ie NOT backwards compatible, less USB ports, smaller drive, etc) I would assume you could still get the 60gig, at least have the store order it anyway.

I agree with Blueray, bloody brilliant picture and sound. You do need to have a HDTV and all the expensive cables to make it worth while though. A mate of mine purchased a XBOX360. When you compare what you get for the $$, PS3 is way more value for money. Plus, as ZE said, BLUERAY has won the battle with the movie studios, so HD DVD will be on the same shelves at BETA!! I think microsoft are changing the additional player for the XBOX to blueray.

Nintendo Wii is great! But do as the instruction manual says and remove any objects that may get in your way... After smashing my hand into the coffee table one too many times playing the bowling game I finally read the instructions... Makes sense really.

The sports game is great, but I also like Call of Duty and one other I forget the name of. It's amazing how into the game you get. Call of Duty is scary! Especially when a Nazi pops up and grabs your gun. You have to push away and dart from side to side. Much better than Eye Toy! Very Happy
