Re: "New" waiting times...
I've decided to just go hard this year and join. I am hoping to get through everything by the end of the year and then travel overseas while I wait for college. That way I haven't wasted any time and I will have got my traveling in. If I get called up while away its just a plane ride home! Bring it on! **runs off screaming down the hallway...

Re: "New" waiting times...
From what I hear, and as has already been mentioned on other threads, the wait times are really long. Like, really really really long. Counties is still making like a vacum cleaner and sucking in as many staff as possible but, other than that...with the economic situation the way it is, current staff aren't leaving. And Police only recruit to fill vacanices.
But keep training, keep motivated cos things can change in a jiffy. What goes down...

Boss said today they just did 15 for Canterbury in the last wing, but it could be next year before the general population (ie not Counties) gets a look-in. But if you are female, not Caucasian, bi-lingual, then that's a different story. Same for guys, especially Asian (incl. Indian/Malaysian etc). Top of the pile. Middle age white boys - keep waiting.

It's summer bro - tan it up! Start taking estrogen, learn chinese or malay or thai or even maori, and you're in!!

Re: "New" waiting times...
mate I can easily get as dark as a brother, can even bluff my way through a Chinese restaurant menu, but taking the estrogen may be just a step too far! Mind you, whatever it takes, lol
