As a GDB in your first 2 years how are shifts made up ? ie; do you spend one day as an I-car, then maybe the next day as Q-Car and then a day doing traffic and so on ?

As for paperwork, are there any shifts where you are basically commited to staying at base all day doing paperwork or do you fit this in around you normal duties ?

Is SOCO a specialised branch or is this something that everyone gets to do (ie; rostered) ?

The plain clothes detectives that work in CIB, do they all start ...

Hi All,

My partner put me onto this website and I am quite impressed with it.

I am a frontline sergeant with 12 years service. I have done GDB, SOCO but mainly traffic. All of my service comprises being at the "coal face" working shift on frontline response in the Auckland City District.

From many of the posts I have browsed, they seem mainly to be by new potential or current recruits at College.

If i can help with any questions, I will give it a try. I'm afraid i have ...

Power hoses and AK-47 assault rifles have succeeded where Sierra Leone's snake-charmers failed by removing 400 cobras and vipers that overran a police station.

Authorities in the southern district of Bo called in police, army and fire fighters after the snakes scared away police officers and residents reporting crimes.

Right, as you can see, I conceded.

I have found another skin which is more like the original.

It also has a few other neat functions.

The issue with the black on grey has been fixed (thanks cptbbb) A few more tweaks are still needed so don't panic!

Thank you for the input, after all this is your site as much as mine.

A group of maori, who are dissatisified and untrusting of police and disengaged from society, have set up their own 'police force'.

They hope to have a fleet of 20 or so vehicles patrolling the Waikato (and soon, more of them around the rest of the country knowing this kind of radicalism) which are marked, have flashing lights, and a burglar alarm for a siren. They intend to nab, amongst other things, truants and speeders.

The Minister of Finance has announced that he will deliver Budget 2009 on Thursday, 28 May 2009.

On TV3 tonight he said that the only ares that will see any money are education and health. Given the amount of recruit candidates champing at the bit to get into college I sincerely hope that there will be some money there to put a few more of us through training.

I hope the National Government move towards meeting its pre-election promise of 1 cop for 500 citizens, our recruiting officer ...

Hi guys how is everyone?

Im near the end of my recruitment stage and just wondering has anyone or do many people get the letter in the mail after you have passed and done all of your test's, scope etc and still get declined? Or is there most likely a good indication along the way that you might be struggling to make the grade? Everything is going great so far as far as I know but just had a brain fart and thought 'what if...'
